When I first dropped you a note two Fridays ago, I made a “dog days of summer” reference. Well, on July 4th, we are quite literally on THE (hot) dog day of summer.

Joey Chestnut, the Dogfather himself, will return to the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest this afternoon following a one-year ban.

I’m not sure if anyone actually calls him the Dogfather, but they should. Google tells me his nickname is Jaws, which just seems boring to me. Plus, the shark had that one first a long time ago.
